Comments about CutList Optimizer Android Version
PROS: This cut list optimiser app is the only one that worked out of the box, and I tested it using a linear wood project too. I had no issues. You get 10 free weekly projects, and there is an online version. CONS: No help file or Hints to explain fully the interface BUT 99% of the GUI is intuitive. And you might not need the symbols on the panel entry array. I didn't. And there were no intrusive ads, and it's does what it says on the tin.
App is good, easy to use. Forgot why I don't use and gave it another go then remembered. I no longer use because of an obnoxious amount of ads. Every part entry finishes with a video ad that I have to wait 5 seconds to clear. Sub is far too expensive to warrant, especially considering the ad revenue they must be getting from the free version.
This app is incredible! I was staring at some $80-250 Windows applications that didn't seem to do much more than this one does for free! I would definitely throw some money the developer's way. The one feature I'd like to see is the ability to prioritize cross-cuts versus rips, if that makes sense (doesn't really apply to plywood but you know what I mean). I have a 48" clamp/edge guide that I use with my circular saw to break down the boards. Most of my optimizations seem to end up preferring cuts down the long way instead of across. I ended up using the results but modifying them in my head a bit :) I would also love to see an iOS app. I'm using this on my shop Android tablet. Still, this software is incredible. I can't wait to use it again!
