Comments about FamilySearch Tree Android Version
Unstable and frustrating. Won't load most of the time. No longer syncs w/website. Terrible for editing and research. For merge or detach, half the time, buttons are below the phone screen, w/o the ability to scroll. Slow, full of bugs or glitches. I use it for quick reference, but must use the website for research and editing. Okay for checking your family tree at a glance and for sharing. Nice display if you include pics.
A big problem I have with this is that it does not update fast enough or at all when I change something on the main website. For example, I merged a family member's profile with an existing one I found that had much more information 2 days ago. In this app however, it is still showing the old profile and therefore none of the things it did change is reflecting on the app. It's showing as if I changed nothing. Can't this be fixed?
I have used this FS App since its inception. I really do like it as generally much easier to navigate and use my smart phone rather than via the Browser access. There are also some slight differences (IMO better) in how the App works on some transactions as compared to the Browser version. I also go back and forth between two or more FS accounts (see relationships from my parent's or a DNA kit I manage persepctive). This is where the App seems to require a reinstall to use a different account.

What is an XAPK file, and what should I do if the FamilySearch Tree I downloaded is an XAPK file?
Open up
A file with .xapk extension is a compressed package file. It is a container file format that incorporates APK and additional associated files required for the installation.
The XAPK format was introduced to package the APK file and OBB file together for a seamless delivery and installation process.
XAPK format can help reduce the package size of application.
On mobile phones, users need to install the XAPK installer first, and then install XAPK files through that installer. You can find the installer here:https://apkcombo.com/how-to-install/. But on PC client, you just need to put the file on LDPlayer.
