Comments about PeakFinder Android Version
The idea of the app is very nice, but there are some issues right now: 1) it doesn't access the location of pictures I want to import (despite it being in the metadata). 2) It doesn't handle landscape pictures well: the controls for adjusting the outline overlay are inverted. The names of mountains are all laid on top of one another and are thus illegible. 3) some mountains don't always show up, especially when close by.
App is very sleak and well designed :) The drawing view is very good ! However there seems to be no kind of optical recognition system and the overlay with camera view always need some manual adjustment to make it match :/ For me this is a significant drawback which should be technically fixable.
I retired to the mountains and had a great view and hiked along the Appalachian trail but I could not find a way to identify most of the mountains until I found Peak Finder. I have advised at least 12 neighbors/hikers and we all enjoy Peak Finder. Years latter I find PeakFinder works almost every where: Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier, parks in Utah and other places.
