Comments about Rosetta Stone: Learn, Practice Android Version
Generally a great app, synchronizes with the browser based version. I've been using it for a while on different mobile devices now. Speech detection just doesn't work on the mobile version whereas it's generally okay on the browser based version. This leads to me doing only non speech related exercises on the go and then switching on the laptop for speech based exercises. I've raised this issue several times with support. They can't help but say it's still work in progress...
The app could be a lot better content and interface wise. When you click the play button for a certain answer option it will often just chose the card as answer even though you just wanted to hear the audio. Once you're finished with one page it will go to the next one without asking if you want to continue - no time to look over the pictures with text again. It's cumbersome to get back there through the menu. Should be simple. Arabic is also just impossible without a lot of work outside the app
The app trial does not teach phrases needed for travel; not in the first two units. It shows images that are too small to see but expects you to choose which one matches the foreign word or phrase you are learning. The app shows foreign phrases for you to repeat but does not translate into your language. It shows an image so you relate the image to the phrase.
